With each passing year I am finding an ever shrinking population of students, including honors students, who actually read beyond what is posted in social media or video games. Students willingly volunteer that they do not read and most parents see it as a non-issue. I tell my students that the best readers are usually the best writers. Is anyone else returning to fully in person learning? We have been hybrid/synchronous since September, which has been very hard and not very effective. They want us to have all Kindergarten students come back in March. I want to stop live teaching over google meet all day while also teaching my students in person at the same time, but there is not enough space in my classroom for safe distancing, not enough space for movement, and sitting at a desk all day is not appropriate for K kids!

Hi I am a new teacher intern hired yesterday. I will be teaching second grade. School reopens on Aug 17. I do not have my own materials. I do not know what materials are there in my classroom. I was looking at PM roles only that were around $110k, one company approached me with Sr PM (title bump) at $110k. I’m getting scheduled for final interview loop next week with this company and planning to negotiate if an offer is extended from them.
