It’s a nice touch but whatever. If I want to hire you, I want to hire you and the lack of an email won’t make a difference. if I don’t, then an email won’t change my mind.
Send it anyway. Hiring can be more emotional than you might think. It might set you apart from another equally qualified candidate. It’s an opportunity to stand out if it’s well-written
Did you take notes during your interviews with each person or remember certain details?
If so, then yes send a thank you email, recalling a certain point in your conversation that you think is important and will highlight something about you that you think will make you stand out. Or it could be something the interviewer said that you really like and agree with or share similar view with and will indicate that you will work well with that person and team.
Emails shows you are listening and not just talking about you. It shows how well you can communicate and how you sell yourself and how you will potentially manage a client.
While it may not make a difference all the time, it doesn’t hurt, you never know. It’s not going to kill you and it shouldn’t take more than 5mins.
I just think it shows you care and put some effort into something that may not pay out. Lots of things we do in the industry never pay out with the client. But we should keep trying.
If it’s authentic and you mean it, send it. If it’s not authentic and you’re stretching just to check a “thank you” box, maybe don’t bother.
Maybe there’s something else to follow up on, send a link to a video you referenced, etc. …that’s how I feel better about the purpose of those emails. But I don’t know what I’m talking about.
Nope! If it was a full week then maybe that’d be a different story. How’d the interviews go? What kind of role?
