question for anyone in this post.. does your organization require to have more than 1 final candidate (for data points, fairness, or compensation approval) ???
It varies, but usually around two or three. It depends on the position and how close the candidates were. And it also depends a little bit on the team and who they want a final interview with.
You mean, the first person we interview between the final applicants? We go with the one that matches the needs of the team. Sorry if I misunderstood the question.
Normally 2 candidates in the final round. Sometimes 3, but never more than that for us. At that point, all the technical skills are assumed, and we start looking at culture fit and things like that.

I try to have 3 at most.
