Hoping to tap into your collective wisdom! I'm dealing with a significant amount of student loan debt and was previously enrolled in the SAVE plan, where I was able to manage my payments. However, the recent forbearance period created some uncertainty. I've received notification that my payments will resume on August 28, 2025, but I won't receive the billing statement until three weeks prior to the due date. Any tips on how to proactively prepare or estimate the upcoming payment amount? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I can imagine that's terrifying. Why can't they just disclose the amount jeez. Any way, I wouldn't panic, but it would be a good idea to prepare your budget to return to IBR payment amounts. You and probably a million others will not be paying them on time! So take it one step at a time.

Try to make sure you're still eligible for an income-driven repayment plan like SAVE.. and request a detailed breakdown of how your new payment was calculated and ensure there are no errors.

Im on PAYE which requires a new application every year to reevaluate your income and I was told that applications are no longer being reviewed. So my payment is going from 850 a month to 1950 a month. I'm going to be switching to a non-income based repayment plan because the servicers are not allowed to take action on income driven repayment plans at this time.

I am also on PAYE and was advised that once my payment reverts back to standard to call the loan servicer and request forbearance until IDR becomes available because my promissory note SPECIFICALLY gives me access to IDR.

Is it irrational for me to get an “ick” for this?

I went on a “date” recently. I paid for the tab as they were going to the bathroom. As we were leaving they said “thanks for lunch” — I was hoping they’d at least ask to Venmo me half as a kind gesture. Following lunch we grabbed dessert. I was hoping they’d offer to cover dessert since I covered lunch but it didn’t happen.

I am fine w/ paying but I was hoping the gesture would at least be presented… am I crazy?

Out of curiosity, what percent of your work/analyses are Excel based? And what other softwares do you use the most (Tableau, PowerBI, Alteryx, etc.)

My work has been 90% Excel based 10% Access/SQL based and friends at other firms seem to be using way more advanced programs.

SOFI or who else?

I have a 25K loan from my MBA. I paid off 100k whole, after graduation. 3 years ago, I moved my loan from federal to private ( SOFI) account. I recently lost my job. I have applied for unemployment, as the severance that I received will only cover for 2 months. Together my husband and I used to make less than 250k after tax. Now, with a loss of pay , we are going to make less. Do you think I will be eligible for Loan forgiveness?

Curious to know how much your student loans were when you graduated from your program, how much you’ve paid off so far, and your age. If you have any varying factors too, like kids, income range, etc. Just trying to see if I’m on track or slacking in life. I am 34 yo, i graduated with 95k in student loans, i currently have 85k left and i make 85k in come. I’m also a single mom with two kids. Just praying for 100% student loans forgiveness. Wishful thinking???
