House hunting in the Midwest and it’s brutal out there. Set up to view a house that looks promising, but the disclosures have “plumbing system” marked as “not available.” (There’s also apparently no water heater.) Has anyone encountered this before? Have any clue what it might mean? 2.5 bath, so I assume it had plumbing at some point. 🤔

Sounds like they don’t want to be on the hook for any plumbing issues they are aware of. If you like the place, put it under contract contingent upon the home inspection. Have a contractor come take a look and tell you what’s going on.

Maybe just an error in completing the disclosure. Question them on it.

Is it on a septic system? I would assume either that there’s a problem with the sewer line or with the septic system. Both can be expensive problems. It could also just be a typo.

like

Not septic.

Could be a major problem with the drain pipes or water lines from the house to the street which would mean excavation to replace. Water is turned off until remedied.

From the curb to the house is on the owner from when I lived in Minnesota

Where at in the Midwest?

Metro Detroit

This is not being facetious, but there are houses in the upper Midwest that legit do not have indoor plumbing that people live in. Off grid cabins.

lol, this is not the case here. I’m in the upper Midwest and have only seen this in hunting cabins in Michigan’s upper peninsula.

It might just mean that the inspector was unable to access the plumbing.

After 6 years of temporary contracts and unstable situations, I find my dream job in my dream company. All of a sudden the world goes upside down and I get laid off. I start sending hundreds of applications, with only 2 recruiters getting back to me to say I don’t have experience for the job (this is how it works in Italy). Add a terrible health situation in my family and it seems there’s no light at the end of the tunnel. Ugh. 😞

Hi everyone. It’s promotions season for my team 🙌🏼 and trying to work with HR to field the market for comp rates. Any guidance on senior CSM roles today, comp + bonus at a company size of 60 people? Role is based in San Francisco. Thanks in advance!

So I’m engaged in an interview process for a top FinTech company. It started the 1st week of August and just now I’ve gotten word from my recruiter that they didn’t update on any decisions made. I had my 3rd & final interview last Friday. My recruiter doesn’t communicate well nor does she let me communicate with the company direct. May I being led on? Am I still in the race for this role in your opinion with the details stated. Please message me if you would like to know more in detail.

I have been a head of marketing for the last 10 years. 9 of those for a B2B/B2C company with $350M annual revenue. The last year and a half, I have been the head of marketing for a VC backed company with $90M annual revenue. I was contacted by a recruiter for a CMO role for a $80M VC backed company.

A question a friend asked me left me thinking. The question was: am I ready for the next level?

What am I not thinking about? I have done the job for larger companies.

Looked at a house (new build) and MIL said the vinyl windows imply the whole house is probably made with cheap, shoddy materials. She thinks everything has to be wood Marvin windows or bust. Is she right? From my research vinyl has its pros too... as long as we aren’t paying like they are wood marvins. Any reactions?

Would you say Austin’s real estate market will go through a correction in 2022? I am considering there in a few months (wife and 3 kids) from a normal-priced city. While we can afford a house there, I am scared of getting into an extremely risky investment seeing such fast growing prices in 2021. I’ve read both bull and bear scenarios online and I’d like to get some “Bowl’s” thoughts. Thanks!

I have significant equity in a property (300k+) and maybe another 200k across other properties. I have a decent amount of money in cash and already 200k or so in stocks. I recently bought my 1st home in TX. I want to get into real estate and eventually own/rent out multiple homes. Are there any good recommendations/tips on books/articles/websites that others have used to get started?

I've read about HELOC and cash out refinance to get a 2nd home but articles are so scattered that it gets confusing which is better in terms of tax benefits and immediate costs, etc. Anything others have found helpful that summarized how to get started would be great!

Good evening all,
With my partner we are considering making a move to the countryside of Switzerland, with a gorgeous RE project offering incredible views on immaculate mountains and lake. However, it is far away, and will require 1h+ train/car commute vs. 10 min biking right now. We are scared it will bite us back at some point, although COVID helped w/ remote working being a new norm. The project will be done 2024, so I hope to have a more relax job by then. Any similar experience to share?

Got news that my house closing may have to be moved due to a delay in the sale of my home. My partner’s income was excluded in the DI ratio, but if it were included we’d be well under the % threshold and can be approved to close on time regardless of the sale of my house. However our mortgage company’s underwriting team has been painfully slow in confirming if her income qualifies. She’s been at her new job 1 month after a year off. Anyone with underwriting experience have insight?
