Hi Fishes,
I am going to appear for a Machine Learning coding round for American Express. It is a hackerrank test and multiple candidates (including me) are joining via webex meeting. Does anyone have any idea on what I can expect in this round?

TC3 has some good advice. Work hard. Show initiative. Do quality work. And if you do not have strong language skills, work on those. And be a little patient.
On most projects, the managers need quality folks to travel as much as folks here want to travel. So they will want to help. But, they won’t send someone who they don’t think will do strong work and generate positive client feedback.
And then there is a huge element of luck. In addition to being good, you also need to be in the right place at the right time.
Get a project from India domain and ask for Onsite. You will get it in minimum time.

Even though I put it a crude way.. it's true for service firms.
Depends on the location and experience. It's close to impossible for anyone below 5 yrs experience if it is US
Start with learning the tech skills and soft skills. Work hard in the project, deliver on time, be proactive and suggest more ideas which can help in automating any legacy process and can help the customer to reduce the cost and increase the efficiency in the processes. By showing your can do attitude towards any challenge. Collaborate effectively within the team. And the most important part is informing your manager about your aspirations. All these things are in your hand. Apart from this everything lies in your manager’s hand. If you are not getting onsite deputation as when you are wanted to and want to get compensated fairly according to your skill level, then it’s wise to switch. Remember lot of the folks in this IT service based orgs are not always eager to go out of their comfort zone. Hence it is not that difficult to outshine a lot of such people. From the manager pov I would say they won’t just send anyone who joined newly in the IT as you have to build that credibility and trust. And work your way up. That being said having this attitude which OP has is going to be troublesome for the senior folks in his/her team. I would say you are looking too much into future provided you put the effort for this dream to come true. All the best!
Thanks for supporting.

I know one of my batchmate, Who joined TCS as a fresher and went to Uruguay after two years.
I think his point is that you will not get direct client exposure and management experience if you are working in a TCS office. Direct Client experience is one of the reasons why people want to travel abroad - in addition to better financial benefits.
