Check the timing of your breakouts. Purging usually occurs within the first 4-6 weeks of using a new product and subsides afterward, and irritation may be ongoing.
Oh my I gotta wait that long 🥹 definitely makes sense, just stinks waiting through it
If your skin is breaking out in small bumps or whiteheads, it's likely purging. If the breakouts are larger and inflamed, it's likely irritation.
Good to know!
Red, dry, irritated, peeling = irritated.
Try using the product once per week and then bump to 2-3 times slowly. If you skin is doing fine you can try to bump up more. If your skin is anything like mentioned above use less. Your skin will tell you when it’s exfoliated enough.
Skin also takes around 8 weeks to adjust to a new product, if it’s been over 8 weeks most likely a reaction. You should also only be applying at night, it can make you skin more sensitive to the sun.
You might also just need to use a moisturizer post if you’re not. I have sensitive skin and it’s the only way my skin will tolerate it.
How long have you been using it out of curiosity? I've been thinking of using retinol but I'm really scared of the purging phase
