I love Tret. Will tell everyone to use it if your skin can handle it.
I’m sure your dermatologist will go through these things but here are my top recommendations
-Start on a low dose
-If you have never used a retinol before you probably will have some reactions. Dry skin, itchy, redness. Unless it is a horrible rash, obviously allergic reaction, don’t stop using it. You will just have to go through it again.
- try to reduce dryness. I swear by the Corsx snail mucin, and 92 cream.
- wear sunscreen everyday.
Thank you, that’s super helpful!!
I've been using Differin as an alternative to Tretinoin and seems to be working well. My skin doesn't like hyaluronic acid, but it seems like that's really effective for some people. I think micro needling works really well and an occasional chemical peel. Good luck!
I’ve used/use Tret and know others who use it over varying ages between 20 and 50 and they look amazing/swear by it. I regret having stopped using it for awhile since I have to go through the purge again, but it’s absolutely worth it! I am someone who will shamelessly ask people about what they use for their skin. Hugest thing is to get a good sunscreen too!
My derm was like “No you don’t need anything”…. How do I get someone to actually help me?
Nurx :) Check them out. Or you can go to alldaychemist and buy it from there too. I like tetrinoin and triluma ( if you have sunspots or melasma)
Love it! I started trentinoin at the 0.5 level and it massacred my skin. Switched to 0.25 and it was great! You need to be careful about wearing sunscreen and I’ll take a break for a day or two if my skin is feeling particularly sensitive. I’m using it more for preventive (I’m 23F) but I’ve found my skin is much smoother and brighter and will heal much quicker from acne or anything else
I use it. I get it in Mexico (.1) as you don’t need an rx. I also use hyaluronic acid good moisturizer and sunscreen. I have nice skin. I wish I started at your age. I do Botox for the glabellar lines as it helps with looking better no resting bitch face. Keep your face out of the sun is the biggest help for aging skin.
.1 is the strongest. Then .05 and .025 I’d start with the .025. Have to use moisturizer. It does flake your skin that is what it is for to help get rid of dead skin.

Aka retinol, search the bowl and Google
Avene retinol was recommended by my dermatologist for sensitive skin. Also bought Elta sunscreen. Am using Glytone cleanser samples (gel and cream).
Be sure to get a full body check while you are there.
It makes your skin super dry and flaky - at least it did to me and after 2 months, it didn’t go away
Did you stick with it or dump it?
Have you tried collagen gummies?!
It most certainly does! Let me know if you want to try out some samples I can get some over to you!
