If you are interested in just moderation or responding to members you may more easily find roles via moderation and social media management agencies as most online community roles will expect a range of tasks and responsibilities.
I suspect you were the person asking about a role without the data aspect. Moderation/engagement only roles tend to be seen as entry level and pay less. If you wish to avoid the data aspect and still progress in your career I'd recommend looking into content creation, community strategy and people management.
NB I have 10+ years experience in online community building so this answer is based on solid industry experience
