I try to end internal negative self talk with “…and that’s okay.”
“I’m feeling so lazy today, and that’s okay.”
“I sounded like an idiot on that client call, and that’s okay.”
Sort of neutralizes the “I’m awful” thought spiral and moves me on to more productive things. Hope that helps!
I started to say “stop it” out loud to break the pattern - even in public so it would feel embarrassing (invisible rubber band flick) it worked.
