How do litigators (non-employment) get in-house jobs? Can anyone explain how they did so?

Lots of former litigators are now product or privacy counsels in tech. I was a litigator and did some cyber/privacy work, which I heavily emphasized, and made the jump that way.

I’m an in-house litigator. I work for a big company that deals with a high volume of lawsuits brought under a specific statute. Kind of a niche area. I did a lot of work in that practice area as a biglaw associate. Made the jump after 4 years in biglaw.

I do IP lit, which is pretty niche. I got my job by applying through LinkedIn, and my experience was basically what was in the job posting. The company worked with my firm years ago, so we had some mutual connections. I think that’s why it popped for me. It’s like finding a needle in a haystack for these in house lit jobs.

Turnover in my group and burn out. I loved my first three years. Got great experience, but the nature of my group changed at year 4, and I never really got to become the mid-level and senior I wanted to be

Rising 2nd year here: been rethinking my choice as an M&A attorney. I've had a rough go of it over the first year-and-a-half of practice and am thinking about moving to a different practice area. I'd like to stay on the transactional side, but am not quite sure what areas I can leverage my corporate and M&A skills in. I was thinking T&E (i.e. business succession planning, etc.)

Would greatly appreciate input from others.

I'd joined Genpact in 2017 and after 5 years I've now moved to Accenture with decent hike.

Now can you advise how much time it takes to come back to Genpact, and what are the chances that Genpact would meet the package?

My professional life at the moment is far from ideal. I’ve been on quarantine (long story, but a good one) for the last seven years. Royalties from my books don’t pay the bills. My entrepreneurial pursuits remain hampered. For the interim, I’ve been looking for a remote opportunity where I can leverage my skills in marketing, sales, social media, and elsewhere for a decent sum. I have a social media presence which, in recent years, reached millions. There has to be something exciting I can do.

Why do many associates at top tier firms stay to make Partner when they can go in-house in tech and make around the same, even long term? For example, you can make near 400-550k in-house at Google, Netflix, FB with 8-10 years of exp. More senior than that in-house, it can easily break $1M.

How bad is it for a junior to push back against a completely psychotic mid level? I don’t know how this mid level hasn’t been fired because they are even rude and bossy to partners and are a nightmare for juniors. Am I asking for trouble?

Lateral that just went through first bonus season with the firm. Not in a major market but workload is comparable to major markets. Surprised at how low the bonus was. I received solid reviews and my annualized hours were well above the requirement. Should I approach anyone about this? Wondering if it is worth addressing or if it could compromise my standing. Thanks in advance!
