I think wise people understand there are times when you throttle back, reflect and maybe enjoy a little space to breath. Consistent effort isn’t always a winning strategy - just like across the board budget cuts demonstrate a lack of insight and strategic thinking.
Our bodies often do best with cyclical training. Seems like our minds and emotions also need time of ‘active recovery’ after peak exertion as well.
I try to write a list of tasks every night for the next day even if they’re small or mundane. I find it really helps add structure to my days and keep me productive even if it’s slow day!
Try the pomodoro method - it time-buckets you to manageable increments and a feedback mechanism that encourages consistent productivity
