Indoors or outdoors? Indoor plants should not need watering every few days. Outdoor plants you could set up a drip system where you have a bucket with some rope in it to siphon the water.
For outdoor, you could get those terracotta watering stakes that you stick into the ground and they release water through the clay slowly. You could also get those glass water globes. Or if you have an outdoor hose, get a lawn sprinkler and a timer and it can do a little periodic spray.
For indoor, depends on the plant but you could also do the water globes, or the bucket and rope to siphon the water off. Or, if they're in terracotta plants, I'll wrap the exterior with some Saran wrap so there's less evaporation, and if it's one that's rooting in water, will literally cover the top of the container with plastic wrap (not super tightly but tight enough) with the plant sticking out of the top. If it's in soil but not terracotta, it would probably last a good 10-14 days with a good thorough watering before leaving.
