How do you tell the difference between burnout and boredom, between needing change and needing a new direction? I’ve been working with the same clients for three years and I swear I could close their books in my sleep. I know every weird accrual, every messy subledger, every personality quirk in their AP department. But lately, I’m realizing that familiarity isn’t the same as growth. I don’t feel challenged, but I’m also not sure if that means it’s time to leave or if I just need to push for something new internally.

Read that McK is paying 2K higher than BCG this year which means BCG will probably raise again next year to at least match. However, they can’t just copy McK with 2K to match because that would look bad so they’ll have to beat it again. Then McK and Bain will follow. Barring a devastating recession, I’m guessing this means MBB is all getting raises again next year?

Should you discuss salary range with an internal company recruiter prior to setting up an interview? With external recruiters it’s pretty easy to talk about the expected range.
