How do you think things are going to look in the next sixth months? Do you think the funding and jobs situation will improve or get worse?

I would like to be an optimist and think that things will improve this year, but I just don't see it. It seems there are so many things either going wrong or potentially going wrong that it feels like the economy and society in general might get rocked. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm generally bearish on this year.

Definitely looking up. Got laid off. (Bad?) Given big severance payment. (Good!) Applying for jobs is the worst job to have. (Bad.) Working all day for no pay. (Bad) Getting rejection emails.(Bad) Getting interviews. (Good!) Turn down low-ball offers. (Meh, but feels good.) Enjoying best interviews ever. (Feels great, but doesn't pay ... yet.) Just need one good job and I can pocket the unspent severance money. I'm very optimistic.

My experience with job changes in my career: Hard, but life just keeps getting better. I get uprooted from the garden. Ouch! That hurts. But what's this? I got planted in better soil. I become more productive!

So, I am looking forward to my new spot in a better garden.

Try thinking this way. Don't fight against it. Work with it. Good luck to all of you. It was much harder 2 years ago, but looking better now.

Although I'm trying to be optimist, the truth is things are getting worst and when you received mensaje like the response appears to be improbable is so frustrated when you have more than 20 years of experience.

I’m cautiously optimistic that things will get better in the next few months

I think it depends on the field. For me it’s already looking up and a few of my colleagues have left already.

That’s great to hear
I’ve seen some hiring and my team has hired two people this month

PI/med-mal associate in my 7th year in a small firm in the Cleveland area - my total awards to date are over $11M on cases I’ve been the primary mover, and I typically am getting $1.5M a year in total results. Does that sound like too little for my experience level in this field? Fees are easily 4x my total compensation.

Thinking about switching in house jobs from one bank to another. Current job is great for work life balance but no promotion prospects and pay is below market. New job offers a better title and better pay but work life balance is a bit of an unknown. What kind of questions would you pose to the new employer/team when trying to ascertain what work life balance awaits? Any tips of setting boundaries early on without inviting judgment? Long time in the making; but we finally sold off from our 50% HWB short. We had two tests at the 3400 level, getting as high as 3420 today before the sell off. Momentum and pessimism over lack of stimulus could take us to the 3107 target quickly, nearly a 10 percent decline over the next month. Stay short my friends. It's going to get bumpy.
