Why would anyone want to be a dental assistant when they're paid so little...?

Usually being a virtual assistant is a requirement to be an experienced dentist, the best way to learn from 0, is to learn from someone experienced in real time.

Honestly? I had no idea what I wanted to do after highschool, and I kept hearing that jobs were guaranteed after college as a dental assistant so I went for it. The job security is a definite plus, but I have some regrets.

I love being a Dental assistant, I have been for 18 years ! My pay started at $10 an hour back in 2004 now I make $32 an hour which I feel is fair

Asking advice from a recruiter: I’ve been recently laid off :( This week I took some time to reflect, talk to friends and family. I want to be more thoughtful on my next move and although interviewing right away would be logical I feel I want to take a break and some time for myself. Take a month or two off working and use that time to plan thoughtfully on my next move. Would having that gap in my resume be an issue when I go back to the job market?

I remember when I first started working on my thesis project. My adviser asked me to get some funding for it, but he didn't give me any advice about how to do that. He just told me that if I wanted money for my project, I'd have to go through some kind of committee process and submit an application for funding from them. Sure enough, after weeks of writing applications and waiting around for responses from the committee members (who were always too busy), I eventually got approved for funding!
