Don’t be scared! Just be kind and eager to learn and ask all the questions. Don’t feel like you need to know everything, and don’t cover. It’s okay to not know. They’ll expect a learning curve. You’ll do great!
Thank you!! That does seem to be the approach so far.
I would echo SC1's comments. They shouldn't expect you to know everything (anything?) about in-house coming from a litigation background. My first in-house position gave me little-to-no support, and I never really got off the ground. My current in-house position had a well-charted onboarding process designed to teach me most of what I needed to know about how to do my job, so that after two months I was at least semi-competent. Be engaged, be personable, and be eager to learn. Best of luck!
Thanks for the advice! It does seem to be true that I’m not expected to know much of anything yet, which is nice. Just trying to be open to learning!
Congrats! What type of in-house role is it?
AGC2 - nope, not that one! Good luck with it though!!
