How does Kroll, Alvarez & Marsal and FTI compares to Deloitte or PwC Forensic capabilities and digital tools used.

How would you rank the forensics practice of each?

Would you consider leaving to any of the mentioned if a higher grade and a salary bump were offered ?

PwC and Deloitte are going to have the better tech/tools. It just comes with the territory of being 70x the size.

Don’t know much about Kroll but FTI and Alvarez & Marsal sound like they get much more interesting work in the disputes space and I hear good things about them culturally in comparison to Big 4. Not sure their pay has kept up with the market these past few years though. Especially the base salaries at A&M

Can confirm my base as a SA is pretty terrible in this market

What do you consider forensics? I work in the expert services group (disputes) at Kroll but we also have forensic intelligence, cyber risk, and data analytics groups.

like

My question is more about the support capabilities, software tools, responsibilities, high profile engagements, delivery based assessments, forensic lab, international engagement with other firms within the network, reputation, pay, promotions ,etc

like

I’ve been able to work on some pretty interesting and high profile dispute engagements over my time at Duff & Phelps/Kroll. In the dispute/expert witness world, super high-tech forensic technology isn’t necessary. In my line of work, lawyers are selecting you for you experience and expertise, not necessarily your firm’s technological capabilities.

Also did a short time at FTI and can confirm their pay is lower and currently they are having a mass exodus of high-level people in their FAAS group.

helpful

FAAS stands for forensic accounting and advisory services. I know about the exodus from old co-workers and that their people are coming over to Kroll!

I am a contract employee that was just brought on a month ago. I have done well with onboarding and learning their tech. I have now been asked to design an architecture for an upcoming project, and document it all. Nothing at this company has been well documented before. I have a feeling they just planning to use my previous experience and then let me go since my pay is high. Is there a way I can safeguard against this?

Just got an offer from traditional agency and one from Accenture and frankly I was disappointed by Accenture offer. Not that money is everything but wow. I guess advertising isn’t that bad

The issue is, my KPMG Partner has mentioned that I *may* be up for promotion nxt July. I am so stuck, not sure whether to take it or not.

I was wondering if the review course “CPE Self Study Course” for the CFF was enough preparation to study and pass the CFF exam. The CFE review course was enough and like if you get a question wrong it explains it well so that when it comes up in a different way in the real exam you can still get it. But when I saw the outline for the CFF material and there seems to be a lot of topics so I was wondering if the review course was sufficient considering this exam is also multiple choice. Thanks!
