Hi there, I’ve been told that Deloitte (London, UK) is going to make me an offer but haven’t heard back and it’s been over two weeks. The recruiter mentioned it would be around the “m2 grade”. Any idea what this pay range is? … I have 3 YOE working in NHS finance and have applied for a position in Risk Advisory, public sector. Curious what life at Deloitte is like? Does a work life balance exist?

I have noticed it. I’ve been finding anything and everything to make the learning relevant to them. Make them buy in and engage them with what they are interested in. The more you make the connection, the more they will buy in. Be honest with them.
I agree about being honest with them and discussing how the changes in tech and communication are impacting not only their generation but even adults. I’ve had to make a conscious effort to bring in uplifting articles or readings (even a funny meme or two) because our media is all doom and gloom and it is shaping our kids’ perceptions about their future. I have never had so many kids (and young colleagues) with diagnoses of anxiety and depression. The pandemic has only exacerbated what was already happening.
Things now are very anxiety-inducing, I just hope the kids would be able to overcome them but I also think it matters that information has become too available for them. Ask them a question and they'd be ready to google it as if they no longer need to already know about it. The same fast-paced info creates restlessness in them too, always leaping onto what's next.
