How is the culture at PwC's NYC FDD group? Saw a thread on this topic from a couple years back, but I'd like to hear a fresh take

Has anyone transitioned from bedside/patient facing healthcare to clinical research? I am looking at making the switch and would appreciate any insight!

I have an offer for $130k for a senior attorney position in a boutique L&E firm. Also have a recruiter who thinks she can get me into another for $150-170k. Both are more than I’ve ever made (Denver, 17 yrs of experience but completely different practice areas). Any tips for countering the $130k offer for more using the other potential offer while not risking a complete withdrawal of the current offer? I’ve never been in a position to bargain my starting salary so this is all very new to me.

I’m maxing out my 401K, traditional IRA and HSA this year and paying for some house improvements. I have about $750K total investments and very close to $2M net worth, but realize that I am behind on investments if I want to do FIRE. I was focused on paying off huge chunks of my mortgage and managed to whittle it down to $75K left. Would you suggest I go ahead and pay that off this year? Why do deals move at a breakneck pace all the time? I don’t understand the urgency put on this work for every single deal. Is it deliberate to avoid lengthy diligence / lots of questions? All these deadlines are arbitrary
