Yes you can switch and you may or may not get the job but definitely you will get one thing which is the best lesson of life.
My 2 cents. If you are experienced in your work domain/technology, you can take a break or resign without another offer, due to personal or professional reason, whenever there is a economic downturn (provided you have a economic cushion and no major debts ). By doing so either you learn new things and improve or you get to know the market reality and get back in the race eventually. In either case it's better than keeping on slogging for 30-35 years till you are tired out or retired formally
Yes you can. I'm currently giving interviews and getting decent offers as expected without offer in hand.
But prepare well for interview.
So your Last working day already over? In that case, what reason you are saying for the gap?
I'm seeing lots of openings are posted but I'm not getting calls 🥲
