How large is a typical VP’s org? I’ve worked places where VPs managed 50-250 people and others where there where many VPs has less than 10 people under them. I know there are a lot of factors but what’s typical?

The two I work with have ~100 in their orgs. But then my manager is a director and I'm his only report, so who knows?

At Google, I'd say it's usually 150-400 people.

Similar for us.

HP it varies by business unit and segment of the business (hr, finance, sales) but 50-150

All the Product and Tech VPs have 10 or less and a 1 or 2 have < 20 where I work. About 600 people in the company.

depends on the size of the company, for starters

My VP has ~100 people in his org total but with only 3 direct reports including me.
