My current job only took like 2 months, but that's because the onboarding was good and I was curious on learning things from everyone on the team. Typically, it takes me 3-6 months. to fully understand the role and settle into the job.
Oh being the newbie is never fun. Then some colleagues don't miss a chance to point out that fact or that you've not caught on yet. How long have you been in your role? It looks like you're doing the best you can at your own pace, so remember to give yourself some grace.
Still trying to
It definitely varies but for a full cycle accounting role I felt settled in after 3 months. I was fully in my groove by month 5 typically. It's quicker with an onboarding and training process and longer without one or a crap one.
My last new job - 1 year.
It depends
I spent about 3 months on training, especially on new systems and general operating procedures, so that I could complete my daily work independently. Some special tasks, such as tasks that are only encountered once a year or quarter, require at least one training.
