How many jobs should I be applying for a week to get a positive end result? I know it only takes one employer to take you on but I’ve been applying to 10-15 roles a week for the last month or so and have yet to have any success. Would be good to know if other people are in the same position and whether I should increase/decrease the number of applications I’m sending off?

Have a minimum number, but I wouldn’t focus on it like that. I’ve seen stories of people applying to thousands of jobs with little to show for it. You make sure the quality and match are there. 20 quality applications count for a lot more than 100 in my opinion.

like

Thanks, I'll make sure to only apply to places that I'd be a good fit for

There isn't a magic number - if you can apply to more without losing quality during application, then do. But 15-20 is already plenty.

I'll just have to stick with it I suppose

As many as you can. If that's 10-15, so be it. But in this job market, it's all a numbers game. If you can get more out than that per week, do it.

Quantity over quality then?

Agreed - no magic number, just put your best foot forward for each one and only apply if you actually would want that job at the salary listed.

Hi fishes,

Service bAsed companies are not releasing offers nowadays. I have left looking for offers from any of service based companies. Except TCS, All are frauds and TCS won’t pay much anyway so done. They will lure you to give interviews and later when all rounds are done and docs are submitted, they will come and say we can’t pay you. I have faced the same with capegemini, tech Mahindra, infosys, cognizant. Is this the case with anyone ? Or am I the only one with bad luck

There’s been some posts on the best planning tools (e.g. planners, calendars, etc.), but my question is how do ppl make sure they use them? I get them and am excited about the possibility of them helping for about a week then I just stop using it. Even if I find it helpful I just never stay consistent with it. Does this happen to others? Any tricks or suggestions to stay consistent using planners, to do lists, calendars, etc.

Out of curiosity. How would a company view a potential candidate who has a period of unemployment to study for the CPA. I am considering to start studying for the exam but I know I would need to leave my employer in order to give 110%. I am contemplating the idea of at least passing one part while employed. Then leaving my employer to study FAR. I am considering to leave my current employer anyways, so it’s more of how my future employer would view that lapse.
