My post is for a lot of folks here who complain about managers not budging to negotiations and not offering package ,what you are expecting.I have one thing to say,there are lot of ibm employees who moved to kyndryl. Inspite of lot of contributions they are earning meagre salary.Now do you expect these people to hire you for more package most of time the package you are demanding is more than what these managers draw. So pls do not look at kyndryl as any other startup.Thanks.

When things tighten up, it’s easier for management to cut salaried staff because you don’t just take a salary off the balance sheet, you also eliminate benefits. So you really need to be able to show the value, not just of the individuals salary but of the entire Overhead they represent. Maybe 10 years ago I was laid off from my position and hired back immediately as a freelance contractor. So maybe that’s a way to keep the people you value without having to hang onto a staff with both salary and benefits hanging over the business.

Addendum to the above - I am looking for ways to show the business value of internal staff - for example , people with library science backgrounds (like me) can help on data governance teams - because the training that information professionals have is similar to what is needed for data catalogs- but I want to be able to research this in the aggregate - find out what many companies have done on this and how it has helped their ROI - I don’t want to just say this anecdotally
