Recent lateral junior associate in brand new practice where I'm the only associate. I'm probably going to bill 1,500 hours max this year due to being very slow and taking time off for a delayed honeymoon which I disclosed during my interview process. I have been told my work product is good, I don't turn anything down, I participate in non-billable work, I'm responsive and I always let people know I'm available to help. Do I need to be worried about getting fired for low hours?

Any tips on how to deal with this…my entire team was let go today (was 5, now just me). We functioned as the Marketing team for 4 brands and primarily focused on product launches and sustaining social media content. I'm in Deloitte general consulting practice and have an opportunity to move over to Monitor strategy. The problem: Monitor fresh MBA grad hire is 100k while I'm underpaid at 60k. If I exit to another firm, my options are 100kish.

Spoke with someone who transferred to Monitor from general consulting and was told they did not match his pay (remained stagnant). Should I transfer for branding or jump?
