AD1: You mean, you’ll have them at hello. ;-)
They're either looking for someone immediately... or don't reply.
2: First with CD and direct manager. Second with another Art Director on the team, an account person, and a copywriter.

For me, it’s always been 3 rounds on agency side.
All of them. All the rounds.
@OP As of late it seems that the average # of interviews is 4-6, depending on the title of the position. (Acd, cd, gcd). Several of my ad friends have experienced this. So the interview process can span 1-2 months. Good luck.
Phone, In person interview, offer. Typically been my experience.
Is there usually a timeframe? Or is it just as scattered?
It depends sometimes if you were referred by a friend/colleague at the agency or if you’re coming in new
I recently had NINE.
Same I just had six for one place and 9 for the next. I usually appreciate it though I like to get a breadth of ppl to talk to so I can get a feel for culture, process etc
All my long term gigs have only been one phone call. I think if you have a great portfolio, it should speak for itself, for the most part. I’ve done the star interview so many times at big companies, and one of them finally offered me a contract this month... after only one call lol.
The pattern I've noticed for interviews that result in you getting hired: 3 to 4 rounds, over the span of 1 to 3 months.
I had 12 in one day.
that’s disgusting
Don’t forget the assignments! Like the giant strategy deck I’m building on the weekend as a final step
I do 2; however I’ve heard - depending on the size of the company - some do 3.
My interviews typically last the day (I get it on the spot or I’m fucked) or it’s spanned 3 days - 1 with the CD and HR, 1 with ACD, the last with the members of the team. Depends on the size of the agency.
