Month before was c. 220, month before that c. 255, month before that, c. 240. It didn’t materially slow down for me, but as soon as I went on leave the emails stopped and no one asked me any questions for 6 months.
I’ve been doing basically nothing since my last closing two weeks and don’t expect that to change in the next two weeks before my due date. I didn’t even have my work phone on me for a couple hours at a time today and it felt great.
Basically nothing. I knew I wasn’t meeting my hours anyway so I had no reason to push for more hours. I took it VERY easy and it was amazing
195-200 but required around 160
In the same boat. One more week to go after this one and still billing minimum 50 hours a week, managing big filings, being asked to continue overseeing major work streams. Like sure, wring me out, I’ll do it, but my last day I am OUT and you are going to wish you had let me transition my work ahead of time when I could actually be available to answer questions.
Ramp down is a lie. I was also told that the partners don’t see your adjusted hours, they only see you what you actually bill, so people will still hound you if your actual hours aren’t on track 🙄
Yes I’m bitter
My firm has a graduated scale goal, more or less. So like the two weeks before the due date, they take our annual goal divided by workdays times 25%, then the two weeks before that it's 50%, then the one week before that is 75%.
Upon return, it's similar except only one week for 25%, two weeks for 50% and one week for 75%, and then we are expected to be back at capacity.
I averaged 160 a month ish for 1800 goal
:(
About $200,000 - I had to pay the out of pocket family max for one year and the next ( baby was born in late December and we both required hospitalization). With insurance it was $18,000 out of pocket
Pro
I got piled on on my way out so kept pace with billing, but it was HARD. I had no energy at all and had a little anemia and a lot of dizziness, and my brain just wasn’t working.
