Wish apps like BetterHelp were free. I can’t afford healthcare or therapy (I’m unemployed, and yes, I’ve tried seeking pro bono therapy options — no place anywhere nearby offers it.) I really need a therapist I can talk to on at least a weekly basis to just unpack so much that’s bogging me down to the point of being unable to function some days, but it’s just so cost prohibitive! What sucks is everyone assumes this career hands you median wages on a platter but I’m worse off than I’ve ever been.

I may be stating the obvious and apologies if you’ve gone this route, but some lawyers assistance programs have counsel on staff (no cost)

like

I have. Unfortunately, I live far away from my licensed state and the program my state offers is not very good for what I need. BetterHelp is probably not a good solution either, though services are much more on demand for crisis response. What I really need is a psychiatrist to help me find a medication regimen to address chemical imbalance in tandem with therapy but that’s out of my reach until I have a better job or money to move to a state with affordable health care.

Best consulting companies for Healthcare related projects ?

After John Oliver's statement on access to mental health services, I'm curious to see others' takes. Is our mental healthcare system broken? Is it inaccessible? With so many digital counseling services and the breaking down of -some- stigmas around mental health, I feel like we have done better. People just need to make the decision to seek help.

I’ve been in Pharma for 3 years and I don’t want to stay. I would love to work in a healthcare startup. I have some translatable skills but not enough experience for most of the roles that would match my pay. I can’t take less $$ as I’m the “breadwinner”.

Not be archaic by using this terminology but I’m a female “breadwinner” and my company was acquired recently and the new health insurance benefit is them paying basically none of the insurance for my spouse and child.
