Thoughts on living in Newport/waterfront JC?
Hi Guys, wats up in Volvo. I am recent joiner to volvo,my manager is insisting I come to office 2 days a week and relocate to base location, he is insisting this is HR policy. Though I asked him I can work 8 days from office in a month together & rest from my home, but he is not accepting. Any advises how to mitigate this issue. Volvo

I managed to save 2.5 years for an emergency fund. Learned my lesson after the 2008-2010 recession.
If you haven't already, I would put some of that money in a taxable brokerage account. Normally, I would keep emergency funds in cash, but since you've saved 2.5 years worth, you can always access the money after a year and still only pay long term capital gains on any growth. Especially with inflation being what it is, I'd definitely recommend making your money work for you!
6+ months always
12 months now.
Who here is making enough to even have an emergency fund 😢

I know a few ppl job stack in Q4/Q1 that’s specifically for their emergency fund. Especially since most roles have overtime.

6 Months before I got laid off. However, I like to have 12 months in this economy. In earlier stable economies 3 months was fine. By month two of unemployment. I would be rapping up onboarding. Times have changed.
This is what I’m thinking too. 12.
It’s not necessarily an emergency fund but just my liquid savings. I haven’t been able to contribute to it in a while but I have enough for about a year of bare-minimum survival in NYC
10 months minimum now. More though is better
Is there a maximum amount? lol
General rule is 3 - 6 months but personal finance is personal. What’s your ~ situation ~?
I was thinking of working up to 12, just because of how scary the economy is / this industry. But just wanna hear what others say.
