Haha!! Umm this is a no brainer, I’d be shocked if you don’t at least get a first round interview... use your connections friend!! That’s half the battle
Thanks for your encouragement! I really still don’t know much about the networking part of this business. Funnily enough I met the MD through cold LinkedIn messaging him cause I read an article he wrote and wanted to let him know I liked it. Weird how things work.
At ACN it pretty much guarantees a first round interview IFF the MD submits the name. Dropping a name alone doesn't help. Copy him on your note. Sorry to see a pro-active person leave ACN, but good luck improving your career whatever you decide.
One last caveat, this depends on their recruiter not screwing up. All firms have a couple weak players there...
There are 8000 of us, and I know some of us are jerks, every large group has them. But almost all of us care a LOT about the people. I'm on a staffing call every week, and a second one twice a month. Every time there are balance decisions. Best matched skills, time on the bench, too long without a local project for someone that wants occasional local...
These aren't easy, but everyone tries. I'm in the midst of a re-org I don't want and have over 250 people to re-assign. I'm sure I'll get some wrong. If you work for me, you'll have a chance to address it by the end of October. I'm sure every MD in my position is going through the same painful exercise, all while trying to maintain our sales and personal chargeability targets.
None of this is to seek sympathy, we chose this role and are compensated for it. And yes, we complain amongst ourselves as well.
Apologies to those who hate ellipses, I'm old and there is nothing negative implied above.
... Had encouraged me to send them my resume for open positions. I am curious how much I should expect an interview/ should be preparing my case study skills?
