Happy short month
Would anyone working at ZS Associates be willing to discuss day-to-day work and type of projects, preferably at the consultant level? Trying to make the switch to strategy consulting and want to see if my background would fit what they are looking for. I would really appreciate any time anyone has, even if it’s just for an email or two.

I would have read Clayton Christensen’s “How Will You Measure Your Life” and found the answers to that sooner to help guide myself further.

I'd have gone all out in consulting. Balls to the walls. International projects. Wall Street. Alt travel. Date around and practice safe s3x. I'd have quit worrying about saving up and instead hired a physical trainer to get me in shape, an image consultant to pick out my clothes and signed up for any courses/certifications/degrees that would have improved my skillset and joined a yacht club or something to grow my network. Instead of long term savings, I'd have reinvested it all in myself.
True that! If only. I'm the oldest and the official style consultant for my younger sisters /cousins. Pretty good at it, but I'd love some help on my own style to dial it up a notch or two
Studied computer science in college.
The odds of succeeding in securing an interview to SWE entry level roles with my Coursera certification seems pretty low... the absence of a structured (and reputable) program hinders this...
Would have prioritized my ex girlfriend more. She was the one that got away because I consistently put work above her on the weekends.
I wish I had traveled more. Taken more risk. Started a venture. I am 39 now.
Same as A1, would’ve dated around more instead of being a goody and saving virginity for the one I thought was right in my late 20’s

Not going into consulting. Regret not doing into IB or tech recruiting in college when I had the option to but decided not to.
D1- your problems are specific to Deloitte GPS (and similar firms)- can’t really relate and do not at all regret not recruiting for IB
I’d prioritize buying property earlier.
I’d honestly do nothing differently except worry less, try to enjoy life more, and not get so frustrated and fight with my bf over stupid things
I really don’t have too many regrets and feel like I’m having a good run.

Would’ve studied something different in undergrad, and probably started my career in a more technical field. But, I’ve been pretty good at striking a balance between professional development and personal happiness (e.g., quit consulting as soon as possible to move to tech). So in terms of a job satisfaction angle, not bad. I would have spent more time in school and the past couple years on personal relationships

Similar to A3, would have had definitely been more promiscuous.
Been more thoughtful about where my career and life is heading rather than focus on my growth at my specific firm alone. Essentially, be more holistic in life assessment.

Honestly, I don’t think I would’ve done anything differently. I lived in several countries and travelled around the world, met so many amazing friends from everywhere, had a few jobs, got my MBA, and came out of my 20s a completely different person. If anything, I guess I’d have spent more time making memories with my family.
Taken more math courses in college and being willing to take on debt (my undergrad GPA suffered for working 20-40 hours a week, and I never traveled abroad).
