Depends on how much I hate my current job. If things are fine, I need at least 20% to deal with the hassle. If I'm miserable, I'd take 10% just to get out.
So true! The situation is so key
I'd need at least 20% more to think about going somewhere else. An exception might be if some great opportunity came along where the work would be fascinating and the new company would be a step up.
Thanks for sharing! So important to keep in mind all the variables
Am greedy- I always want double
Yes once I doubled my base salary. I just can’t go into an uncertain position with a small bump- has to feel like a promotion not a promise.
I’m mid stage in my career (20 yoe) and won’t change jobs for less than $100k bump in total comp. Saying that, I would leave for things like risk of the firm going out of business or ownership changes for just a lateral so I stay employed.
I’m guessing you don’t know what yoe means. You think someone with 45 years of work experience is half way? 90 years of experience isn’t a thing.

I would need better benefits AND a higher salary. I have good benefits and make $50k. Total compensation with everything would be about $95k. The next company would have to offer salary minimum of $100k and total compensation being $160k+
Benefits are so important—great call out!
I currently make 130k and just got offered 150k, and same commission structure. I guess I am jumping ship next month!
Congrats!! That’s so exciting!

I would maybe jump ship if the increase is 30% over my current base and there is a stock bonus component to it with good benefits.
I dislike my job to the point where if I got an offer elsewhere with decent WLB for 10% below what I make now, I'd probably take it. Maybe 20% if everything else about the new job were great.

I think as long as it’s 15k more I would consider. Raises are hard to come by .
