We are equal at all levels other than Director, where base is equal but bonus is a bit less on average. Partner math is very complicated due to pensions etc.
I made 350k as a second year manager, will probably be ~400 as a first year director.
I’m underpaid

I think the main difference is MBB bonuses from what i understand. EM base isn’t a whole lot different but the bonuses this year were 100% of salary in some cases i heard (target is 30-40% for average performers).

Recently got offers from McK and LEK, M level. LEK had ~20% higher TC, but McK base salary is 10% higher. Signed with McK because I want to post on this app as McKinsey & Co. 1
I mean yeah, you have more responsibility as an M at LEK but it’s still 2 YOE post MBA which I understand as industry standard

Generally similar through Manager. Starting at Principal/director may starts to differ (it's still T1/T2 so the salaries are obscenely high compared to the rest of the world)
Check Glassdoor.

Depends on which MBB. McKinsey pays lower than the others. EYP also pays lower than the other firms you mentioned. LEK is a bit higher at the M level than any other firm listed
Do you mean MBBD and T2?
Lol. Seriously.
The biggest difference is faster promotion track at MBB which means you get to higher comp sooner
Second biggest difference is there is more differentiation between target bonus and top performer bonus at MBB than at most T2. At target the comp is about the same
At the same level base was about 10% higher at BCG than the T2 I left. Target BCG bonus was smaller so comp was essentially the same at target but BCG had more upside for top performance.
To put numbers on it at my old firm a typical Manager bonus was 35% and a top performer might get low 40s. At the time BCG PL base was about 10% higher but bonus was only 20-25% for target, which worked out to about the same total comp for a typical performer.
For a top performer BCG could go as high as 40-50% (or more in a good year) which resulted in significantly more TC than a top performer would get at my old firm.
Plus BCG promoted 6 months faster to PL and about 2 years faster by the time you got to equity partner.
