I’m a program manager for custom software development but feel way too functional to be “useful” outside of consulting. Trying to see what/how much to learn before trying to go to a startup or tech company
I like to stay at the solution architect level. Enough to be dangerous but you don’t want me hands-on-keyboard writing code anymore. I love being a TPM because it’s the best of the product and engineering worlds.
I’m doing final rounds for a TPM role. I have a security engineering background, engineering masters and ~5 years dev experience. I was told I wouldn’t qualify with less for this big tech org TPM role. Don’t try to fake it.
