Only ever owned Away out of this list (price point on 1, 2, and 3 were way too high for me) and I have zero complaints on my Away carry on.
1 and 2: Nice, go for it. Great quality, classic and sharp looks, good style. If you’re going to get a Rimowa, get one of the aluminium ones though.
3: Probably a controversial take here, but Tumi is overpriced and ugly af and just screams “jumping on the basic consultant bandwagon.” Also the quality has gone down dramatically in recent years.
4: It’s a moderately ugly and expensive suitcase with a battery in it. If that’s your thing, okay I guess.
5 and 6: Never heard of them
Consider a seventh option: Travelpro.
I’ve never heard of travelers choice. Travelpro is used by airline crews, and their bags take a beating. One of my bags right now is one of their two-wheel roll-aboard carryons. Over the last 8 years, it’s done 500K miles, bounced across the sidewalks of NYC, rolled across the dust in Kenya, etc - and still looks brand new. So Travelpro gets a thumbs up for me. Great quality at good price point.
I find Briggs and Riley to be roughly the same quality, slightly more stylish, but about double the price.
