How’s the WLB and money outside big 4? Been in big 4 my whole life and at M level right now so want to explore what’s out there?

5 yoe switched to tech and making 320-400K TC working 40 hrs a week. Well worth the switch

Why lie on an anonymous forum? What's to gain?

Slalom is really really good for WLB and a substantial increase from comp POV. Do consider it and DM me if you have any questions 😊

It’s possible. Depends on what they’re looking for. Generally they will start by seeing you’re a good fit in the culture and then gauge your technical skills. If there’s a role where you’re in SWE but perhaps might be client facing. I’m not sure, rare but possible

Staying in professional services will be just as bad. Corporate is chill in Toronto / Canada

like

Depends.. can we better in most jobs but worse in some. Generally speaking, you will get better wlb and salary but it will be more stagnant. In B4, there is more foresight and guarantee in terms of moving up to SM and potentially partner. Also, the job market isn't too hot right now in many attractive industries (tech).

Make twice as much working half the hours

Dang, working in PE with good hours? That’s unheard of

Though my current company is an mnc but not that big and no work pressure is there, amazing work life balance. However, there is little to no learning and its very slow, the project is just starting and the client itself is not clear what they want. Do you think I should switch just because its a big 4. Please help me decide. Yoe -3.5

Simple question. Why do Doctors earn so much in a country where access to health services is so difficult ? I don’t mind if they are becoming billionaires. I would just rather have more Doctors paid less. Access is a real issue. If the argument is around better opportunities in the US, this applies to many people, including us.
