They work 6-8 hours per day. Plus the costs of living is significantly lower… with 60 euro you can have equivalent 120-150 dollar decent 3 dollar sign dining experience in Paris/Rome. I don’t see a downside if you like city lifestyle. In Europe, it’s not just about earnings. You have a style. 👌🏼

Very nice great success

I have my cousin in Europe and I’m actually working with a couple clients in Germany and UK and they are crazier than us. They review slide at 11 PM over there and then send comment and ask us to work over the weekend to get things done. I had these experiences six months in a year ago and it was one of the most mindnumbing experience I had.

Told a friend of mine in tech I was considering moving to BCG. He asked me if I would have to move to Boston.

I followed up by asking what he thought the top consulting firms were. "I'd guess PwC and then McKinsey are the best. I've also heard of KPMG, Deloitte, and Bain, but I don't know much about them."

Just a reminder that outside our bubble no-one really cares about firm prestige etc.

Why does everyone say the work in FDD is so much better than audit? I’ve been in the group for a few months now, and it seems to be just as bad if not worse.

When will it end?

In talks with A&M to come over to their TAG practice from EY FDD as senior associate. Base salary is very competitive on top of the alluring "bonus" structure. 2 questions:

1. Do they normally offer sign on bonuses?
2. Is their any disadvantage between A&M FDD compared to B4 FDD in terms of exit ops down the road? Trying to look 5 years down the line

Would appreciate any insight!

I see a lot of Jr. Level folks (myself included) in this bowl asking about certain finance exit opps like MM IB and PE etc.

At some point is the comp that much better?

From Big4 Transparency: S1/MCOL/2YOE/FDD making $97k. Managers MCOL close to $150k.

very Selective jobs( MF PE and BB IBs) kinda blow these numbers out of the water... but for the more attainable exits like MM IB and and corporate development... considering wlb and pay, is the grass much greener?

Thoughts?
