Interviewing with Apple next week for the roles of Global Supply Manager (GSM) and Worldwide Procurement Analyst in Austin. Does anyone have any tips or advice for the interview? What kind of questions do they ask?
Also, what’s the compensation like in Austin specifically? I would think the compensation would be different than Cupertino. Anyone have any offers or salaries for these positions in Austin?

It’s fine. They don’t want to “out” you which is why they ask. If you say No they’ll still contact your current employer but will wait to do so until 2 weeks before your start date. Presumably you’ll have given them notice by then.
You should be fine. I was there a few years ago & it’s mostly for criminal stuff vs employment
Not sketchy at all… they put that option there so that your current job isn’t compromised by your manager knowing you’re considering other opportunities. Do not give notice until background clears and your new employer asks for a firm start date from you. If they get verification from prior employers they don’t need your current one. And they don’t typically expect you to say it’s ok to call them, so it won’t impact your offer.
What if I don’t have a prior employer? Will I be able to offer my W2 or most recent paystub instead of them calling my current employer?
I did the same thing at KPMG. I even reached out to ask, and they confirmed it was fine.
It might come across as suspicious. Is there any reason why you chose no?
Dont want my current employer to know I'm pursuing a different opportunitty at this stage!
If they can’t verify your employment with the company, they can also verify with a W2 (with your salary info blacked out). You can explain that you haven’t notified your current employer yet, but would be happy to provide the W2 to help the process
Just let them know why is all. Get ahead of it by providing some open and honest communication about it. Why did you honestly select no? Let them know if you’re worried about it.
