I accepted an offer from EY but it's contingent on me succesfully completing a background check. I havent given my notice yet because I want to be 100% sure that my offer is finalized. The background check includes employment verification where they will contact the HR dept of companies that I've previously/currently worked at to confirm my employment with them. There was an option asking if I give them consent to contact my current employer and I choose "no" is that ok or is it sketchy?

Is anyone else returning to fully in person learning? We have been hybrid/synchronous since September, which has been very hard and not very effective. They want us to have all Kindergarten students come back in March. I want to stop live teaching over google meet all day while also teaching my students in person at the same time, but there is not enough space in my classroom for safe distancing, not enough space for movement, and sitting at a desk all day is not appropriate for K kids!

Split classes take away joy! We have 6-7 classes at each grade level and they split 1-2 into the remaining 5 so we can have a 5 day schedule. Big classes plus the classroom culture homeroom teachers work so hard to achieve are ruined. Advice? (Plus we are told to "not be negative" by admin.)
