I always appreciate thoughtful discussions about how new technologies actually work. Curious to hear how others here approach the infrastructure side of crypto..

By "crypto" I assume you mean "cryptocurrency". By "infrastructure", I assume you mean "mechanics of cryptocurrency payment systems".
If you want to talk abstract algebra and number theory, I've never found any place for that outside my academic institution, and there I had way too much of it, always with too much pressure applied (for coursework and grades) to be enjoyable.
We'd probably be talking about the component parts of consensus algorithms.
Where you land on this ship, which I'll warn you has pretty much sailed, depends on you.

Fair point, I was referring to cryptocurrency infrastructure rather than cryptography as a mathematical field. I’m interested in the operational side: mining, consensus, network security, node operation, and how those pieces work together to keep decentralized systems reliable. Which aspect of the infrastructure do you think is the most misunderstood today?

Hello All, I have been selected in the interview at NTT DATA and also submitted documents as requested by Recruiting HR. However , it's been a 10 days after docs submission but haven't received any call from HR for salary negotiation. On email follow up with HR, he said he is on it and will come back to me soon for further process. Any views.NTT DATA

I’m struggling at the moment to gauge how much I should be getting paid in my position as i feel I’m heavily underpaid for the work I do, which includes managing digital marketing operations across 12+ countries, manage the studio/creatives plus lead on any campaigns and strategies, etc. I’m also remote UK-based although my company is international. So what do you feel a fair UK wage would be for the role? I love my job/team but the stress isn’t worth it for me atm. Thanks in advance!

First year: how long without a full ramp up before I should worry? I’m sub-250 hours since I started (3.5 months) and the firm/group are both busy. Other first years in my group are mixed. Worried I’m missing the reps that first years are getting at other firms. Enjoying the freedom while I have it, but I’m still thinking this is odd. Any advice, action steps, anecdotes, etc. appreciated.

Hello! I have a two part question: 1) is it worth it to obtain an SHRM specialty credential if I don’t have the broader SHRM certification? 2) has anyone gotten the People Analytics or Talent Acquistion credential? If so, how valuable was it from a learning perspective? Do you feel it significantly contributed to your knowledge in either area? Thank you!

Under contract to buy my first home - house hacking a triplex. Property has been leased by the same three tenants for the last 5+ yrs, rents haven’t been raised since they moved in. Market rents have risen 70-100% in the same timeframe. All seem like ideal tenants (retired and take great care of the units) but I’d like advice on how to approach the rent increase conversation. Rents don’t make/break my mortgage payment but I’m leaving a lot on the table if I don’t increase significantly.

Question that could belong here or in the Relationships bowl:

How do women prefer to be turned down if the guy they’re pursuing is not interested. I know men have the capacity to deal with rejection poorly, and I’m not suggesting otherwise. But in my anecdotal experience , women take the gentle “no thanks, not interested” poorly.

I work 2 part-time jobs. I just requested a pay raise at my ABA job which they approved on by 10%. My other job is in Mental Health has a flat rate with no chance to request a raise, turns out I'm not required to work the full 20hrs/Week meaning that when there's no work to complete I won't be getting paid. I've only been here 8months & want to leave as I need the money. Should I start looking elsewhere even if I haven't been here for a year?
