Nobody on fishbowl can answer this for you because there are too many variables that we don’t know about. If you’re seeking an accommodation, you need to bring the request to your leader and work with them to determine the options that would not be an an undue hardship for the employer.
Accommodations are also based on if the request would be a hardship for the company. They do not have to approve it just because you have documentation. My experience is that companies allow it for a certain amount of time and then you will have to make a decision if you can/want to return onsite. Good luck!
I'm not sure about the laws in your state but I know here that if the doctor makes a recommendation like that, employers are supposed to comply. Now, this accommodation might make it difficult for you to find work in the future.
This comment is not accurate. If an employee requests an accommodation under the ADA, employers need to engage in the interactive process. They aren’t just blindly “supposed to comply”. Also, the ADA is a federal law.
