If it is true, my second question is what companies out there have the pay, benefits, and perks like FAANG? My last question is if it is as difficult to get into those companies? I hate to say this, but have you thought about relocating? I ended up moving out of California because I just couldn't handle the job market and the astronomical cost of living.
Are their trail positions for ccma? Where and what do I sign up with?
I’m in the same position and it’s not just in California… it seems to be happening everywhere. I got my CCMA certification in winter of 2023 and applied in June of 2024 before my clinicals were over because I wanted to get the experience in. It’s 2026 and I’ve still not landed a single job as well.
Same here I'm in Arizona
If you are having trouble finding a job in your field stop looking. If I may give you a bit of advice. Find a job as a NON Emergency Medicle Transportation. You drive Dialysis patients to their appointments it pays really well.
The overtime is great you work a lot of hours but it’s worth it.
Last year I made $70,000 Hope this helps a lot of companies out there starting @ $20 an hour with potential of working 120 hours every 2 weeks if you work full time.
I worked at Kaiser for 16 years all over the Bay Area. The advice I give to anyone trying to get on at Kaiser, is that the only way to get in is that you need to be willing to take an On Call position. Now-an On Call is guaranteed 0 hours. But you will be on the inside. And Kaiser hires internally first. If Kaiser calls you, you take WHATEVER job they offer you. Best Job I Ever Had!! Good Luck🍀
I’m having a similar problem in Oklahoma. Been in the medical community for over 40 years. Receptionist, registration, surgery scheduler, medical records. Been out of work since October 2025.
I have an associate degree in that same field since 2011 and have never got hired anywhere in Mississippi. I went back to school for nursing LPN and I finished last year and the jobs are unlimited with no competition I can work anywhere in any state and still make good money word of advice go back to school for nursing medical assistant was a waste of my time because I am loving my nursing diploma, thinking about bridging to RN BSN
I am definitely doing this ! Thank you for this
You could be hired as a phlebotomist. The pay is pretty good and there is a need for people with your experience.
Have you tried working with an Agency? They usually work with hundreds of employers to fill their needs.
You might be over qualified? Honestly, I dint know how anyone affords to continue their education but you might have to continue forward. Theres always the possibility that an insurance company would need you but if the jobs arent there.... Wisconsin does have quite a few openings vs trained workers. Many places OFFER to pay for your continued education to fill openings (and pay you hourly to go to school!
Very competitive right now and because of all the cutbacks it's even gotten worse they have lowered the budget so much it's not only hard for employees but for the people who are trying to run the establishment I guess they'll always need people but it's all about timing when you're in the right place at the right time, good luck
