I am doing a back door Roth IRA through Vanguard and while everything makes sense to me, I am unsure if an additional $6000 be invested for a non working spouse. We satisfy the criteria but two questions - 1) Is this still valid I.e., $12k can be invested for 2021? And 2) Any insight into how this is done - Vanguard doesn’t let me add more than $6k as it’s above the individual limit. I tried searching the bowl for specific answers but wasn’t successful. Inputs appreciated.

Yes you can. The spouse needs their own traditional and Roth IRAs. The I in IRA stands for individual. You can’t put spouses contribution in your Ira. My wife who stays at home just did it last week at Fidelity

Perfect! Thank you so much!

You will have your own accounts and your wife her own accounts, I have done the same for my husband, I opened at vanguard. I put 6k for each of us into traditional and then immediately converted to roth and invested in vstax.

Going through a closeout. 50-50 profit share allocation, but my business partner has been using the venture money at their personal piggy bank (hence the breakup). My accountants say because we agreed to 50-50 shares, the leftover money has to be divided equally.

They spent $100k in the last month on random "work stuff" but bought a new car, etc. Now I have to pay for it with less equity return!

Just wanted to rant, I'll probably never go into a partnership again.

I’m 25 and have found a duplex I’m considering purchasing as a rental property. Planning on renting both units and have the cash to make the down payment without an issue. My cash flow analysis has a payback period of 3 years for my down payment and a 13 year payback period for the whole investment. I think financially it makes sense. My question is, is it realistic for a 25 year old young professional to handle dealing with all the extra curricular’s that come with owning a rental property ?
