You would have to confirm with someone in HR. You would ask if you can make after tax contributions and Roth Conversions. Also, it is likely that 2022 will be the last year to be able to do this.

I am not sure that 2022 will be the last year for it. Possible but would say likely

If you fit that demographic and were offered a solid investment opportunity with a guaranteed annual yield of 8% and an appreciation of the underlying asset of at 3%, how much would you be willing to invest in it without stressing too much? 10k? 25k? To be clear, not seeking investors here.

I am doing a back door Roth IRA through Vanguard and while everything makes sense to me, I am unsure if an additional $6000 be invested for a non working spouse. We satisfy the criteria but two questions - 1) Is this still valid I.e., $12k can be invested for 2021? And 2) Any insight into how this is done - Vanguard doesn’t let me add more than $6k as it’s above the individual limit. I tried searching the bowl for specific answers but wasn’t successful. Inputs appreciated.

Can someone dumb it down for me why IUL is a bad idea (if it is, in fact, a bad idea). Is there any reason to have both? Would love to get insight from folks here as I’m not quite sure what to do. I currently have around 14K in student loan debt and enough saved up to pay it off in one fell swoop. What I’m struggling with is whether I should invest that money into the stock market (thinking less risky S&P 500 ETF) and pay off my student loans monthly with the average payment being around 1000 so I can pay it off in about 16-18 months (due to interest being around 5%) or pay it off all in one go?
