Hello, what is working in retail banking like at JPMorgan Chase ? Specially the branch manager role. I’m looking in the Columbus area. How is pay, culture, benefits, sales environment, meetings, etc. How easy is it to transition from retail banking to corporate. I hear the Polaris campus has great opportunities, I was thinking about getting my foot in the door through retail then transferring to corporate ?

I would rescind the offer if I found out you lied about your current salary.
Requiring salary history will soon become illegal like it is in Massachusetts. Giving up your current and past salary info gives you no leverage in an offer. Tell them your desired target range
Doesn't D ask for pay stubs to validate your salary and W-2 at KPMG, before you join them? I thought most big 4's do this as part of the background check.
Uncle D is all knowing
I think it should be illegal. This is what leads to inequity in pay. Pay people market price.
Leave salary out of the negotiation but before you start they will need verification. I have heard jumping firms is. 20-30% bump
Had this happen to a friend at KPMG that was moving to Deloitte. They rescinded the offer and he had to move groups within KPMG since he has already told his team he was leaving
Just don't reveal ur salary and tell them what ur worth in the market and what your target is
* ask for pay stubs and W2 to validate your salary
A couple of people I used to work with tried that at EY. I'd suggest you don't because they will find it in a thorough background check.
Deloitte will audit EVERYTHING, if you lie outside of 5% of your current compensation or any other aspect of your work history they will pull the offer. I've seen this happen before firsthand, even after verbal acceptance
You're not legally required to give your salary. That being said, after you're verified Deloitte WILL check your current pay via pay stub, W2 as mentioned before. Many companies like Accenture, where I come from, have a hot line specifically for other companies to verify your employment status/pay. If you started out this recruiting process without having given your salary you're fine BUT if they find out that you lied to them, they will very likely rescind the offer and backball you forever.
Do not lie. They will find out. They will make you produce w2 for past job verification upon hiring you and run background check for the rest. I was not accurate with my former salary for 2 jobs back and KPMG found it thru some HR inquiry during the background check process. Opened a formal internal investigation and everything. Luckily, I was honest about the fact that I really didn't remember from so many years ago and just guessed on the application (was in ball park but a little overstated). It took a partner confirmation to let it slide and not can me. 😳
A lot of misconception / lies related to employment verification specific to salary on Fishbowl. I was told I was screwed for lying about salary when leaving Deloitte but D never gave it up when background check company requested (even tho I was told they would by like 5 people on here). I don't remember D ever checking my W2 or pay stub when I started either. If you're a strong negotiator you can get through the interview process without disclosing your salary.
I agree with D2 don't try that with uncle D. They know and track a lot, like you can call them mini FBI. I have heard them having laid off people who tried to expense their weekend groceries on corp card.
After you're hired**
Don't lie. Employers can check title and salary easily. Do tell them what you want, why you're worth it, and negotiate as needed.
