Yes I get that too a lot. I had one the the company was legit and there was a LinkedIn account for the recruiter. The only thing that gave them away was that they did interview for me on Zoom text. I asked them why can’t we do the Video. We just have to be careful.
It's like it's raining scam offers. They're just mining for personal information. Wish I would have opened a separate email account for this job search before I started it.
This is happening alot and it’s really becoming too much, im getting to a point where I no longer know who’s legit because these scammers are using legit sites like Indeed, Glassdoor etc. I had one ask me to fill out information and on there they wanted a payment option, when I ask why, they said it’s to use for my pre employment physical. I shut it down really quick.
Oh yea spear phishing at their best. I get scams a lot too if I do t know who they are I don’t answer them
Oh Yeah...Be aware of the ones that promise you a position with GREAT pay...and Promise High End Computer equipment..BUT, JUST WANT YOU TO SEND $699 to cover the ' initial' Delivery of equipment. The Employer will 'Reimburse' you when you get the first payroll check ❗The Police were aware ..But Do not care Unless You Lost Money...I know. I called to report the Scam...And I Received A BIG YAWN from THE Police!!!...

Yes many texts. The concern is that means your identity has been leaked on the dark web some how. Time to change all your passwords

There are actually a lot of sneaky individuals who sell email addresses, and phone numbers to these annoying spam lovers. National Do Not Call Registry dot gov is where you can register your telephone number.
Any time I apply for a job I get a text saving I applied for a job and let's set you up for an interview and it ends up being a "sell insurance" thing
I've had one last week who sent me the job description and the person to contact. On that file was an ID number. The request was to connect to add the person to my contacts and add Teams app to my phone, add the contact person and their number to the Teams app, then connect to start a conversation. When the initial conversation began, the person asked for the ID number. Then started asking questions. When I was asking questions back such as how will the company send the equipment? The response was a bit fishy. After purposely putting the person in a predicament flooding them with questions that required a response, the replies became null. With that said be careful of how the person wants to connect. Then purposely ask direct questions and put them on the spot. The responses will become vague and at times avoided and non responsive. Don't give personal information over an app or to someone who can't provide a legitimate email. They are becoming smarter using the information from resumes to steal identities causing years of hardship. With that said be careful and always question them.
