I am interviewing with two companies and have moved fairly far in the process with both. With company 1, it seems like I’m close to an offer but company 2 wants me to come up with a business plan based on data they are to supply. I have been waiting on this data which will come from company 2’s research department for almost a month. How do I tell company 2 they need to move faster? I think that company 2 would be a better fit, but don’t want to blow it with company 1.

If #2 is leaving you to hang this long to provide a business plan without providing you the needed details?….for a month? Imagine how they’ll treat you once onboarded! Have you followed up with them? I’d back out and politely tell them to kick rocks. Focus now on #1.

It sounds like Company 2 is looking for some free consulting, and may have already found what they wanted from someone else.
Company 1 looks pretty good now!

My previous agency does what company #2 does. The information they "will" provide will be fictional data based on real scenarios. They will however use your ideas/concepts etc. With that being said, send them a follow up email and or phone call.

Yiu tell company 2 that company 1 is making an offer and you dont want to miss out on an offer from them so they need to get you the info or tell you thwy are no longer interested

I was leaning in that direction so thank you for saying that. It is a new position so the sense of urgency isn’t what it would be if I was replacing someone. Funny because I just got the data yesterday and they were very apologetic for the delay. I don’t think they are stringing me along. They are big, growing and the research dept is slammed but it is troublesome that they move slow because I’ll need research to move to perform my job.

This is the very definition of privilege

Able to post something so absurdly wrong (Google PMs in the comments explaining that she transferred ladders when she switched jobs internally, hence pay change)

Able to become a product manager at Google and STILL not comprehend how misleading the race aggregation stat is “Black women make 58 cents to every $1 a white man makes!” not taking into account job choice and individual opportunity.

..all while the comments are filled with blind support

Hi everyone! First time posting here. I am in a good sales role at my current company but it’s my first solid AE role in the tech industry. I am interested in exploring other opportunities as I know there are a lot out there, but is anyone else worried about the current economic state? I’m worried that if I find a new position for a new company and the economy going to sh** that I am worried about job security. Anyone else feel this way?

A coworker at non-work HH said something antisemtic to me. Do I talk to him about it or should I tell my manager and HR? I'm nervous about retaliation because I've experienced it before when reporting something to HR.

I have had a 60%+ increase in volume from this time last year, but we have not had a new hire in my role to assist with the influx. Additionally, others in my department are overworked and they're delegating down to me.

So not only do I gave more work than ever, I'm doing tasks outside my original role

My supervisor cant get headcount approvals. We are suffering as a department. I don't want to overrule him, but should I go to HR?I'm breaking down at this point and see evidence others are too

Scenario, interviewing a candidate that has great experience for the role however candidate has a lot of tattoos. Nothing crazy or derogatory, would you pass on him/her? Not a customer service job either. Specially manufacturing…. Have you ever passed on a candidate because of tattoos?

I am currently unemployed (but looking) an opportunity to consult has potentially fallen into my lap. Before I shut it down for a lack of experience, I want to know if it's something that I can even do. It's a very very small company, not even 3 FTE. But they are looking for someone to come in, create a Handbook(I can do that), provide benefits, etc.

Is that difficult to implement? I can't imagine it being so, but I don't want to set myself up to fail.

I was called into HR because a coworker overheard a conversation between me and another colleague taking about cable/streaming shows that we watched or recorded. I mentioned that I recorded a few true-crime shows. My colleague jokingly said, "I hope I'm not on your hit-list!". I replied, "Not anymore." HR pulled me in to say a coworker complained about me talking about hit-lists, and they were now scared. HR wouldn't say who complained, so do I have a right to ask about the resolution to this?
