Ask to be transferred to retention. If that fails, ask to have the service canceled. Call with spouses name and sign up for service at new customer price.

I’ve had success with asking for the customer retention department. They seem to care more about keeping customers than do the front line reps

Calling tomorrow to cancel. Wanted service for tonight. Will sign back up in the new year... crazy they have ppl do this. Then again, they prob make millions by people not realizing or not wanting to jump through hoops

Regional monopolies means you don’t have choices! They will call your bluff

you can request the retention dept but you've probably already talked to them. you can try looking up what promos they have on the website now and asking for that, or, read the fine print and see if you can cancel for 1 day and then start a new service w a promo, or have a good roommate/friend/family member start a new service w promo at your address (New account under their name if needed), and you'll pay the bill and you might even be able to switch it to your name after it starts.

Cancel the service, you don't need TV/Netflix

Same, switching from Verizon to Cox because of this. I just switch every 2 years now

You are trying to negotiate without any leverage. Doomed to failure. You have to actually be willing to cancel.

Funny I just had the same situation. Had to cancel Spectrum and jump on the Verizon Fios bandwagon

I always call when my promo is ending and tell them what my budget is and what i want them to provide for that budget. Right now I'm paying $50/ month for 100mbps internet, "streaming" basic cable, and free hbo with Comcast. The budget argument works for me every time

Same thing happened to me.. cancelled my cable and got set tv.. it's been better than big cable companies

I second sling tv!

Asked for a raise and was told to wait for the annual raise period even though I was doing extra stuff on top of doing my job at a very high level and they would not budge at all. Need job advice:

I recently got an offer at a prestigious company making almost double what I make now (OTE). It is also a promotion on the job title which will help for long term career prospects.

The only downfall is I also have a final round interview with literally my dream job later this week.

The company who gave me the offer wants an answer before Thanksgiving. Do I take the good offer and run with it? Or do I roll the dice at the chance at my dream job?

Keep getting approached by rival firms for ~50% salary increases in London. Raised it with my company and got a 5% raise. Don’t want to sound ungrateful but doesn’t scratch the surface of the underpayment of where I am, it’s well below market rates. Manager hinted at getting an offer which they could counter could help but, I can’t see them matching 45-55% I could get elsewhere. Like the work and culture here and salary isn’t everything, but unsure how to approach this. 26 YO with 2.5YOE.

Is C2 to d1 progression after certain time or its promotion based on other aspects
