Good that you have clarity on what you want. Start with AWS solution architect associate certification. Dedicate 30 mins everyday without distractions. Jan 1 - Feb 10. Deloitte is offering free certification and will reward if you crack the certification exam. Check the recent email on cloud certification. You won’t regret this change.

Sure . Thank you for your reply . I feel little better after seeing your reply .

Coding is not necessarily the only path to success. you can develop functional expertise or automation testing skills or RPA which has at par success rates . it is important to stay close to your interest & strength rather than blindly following a trend. QAs have great opportunity to move into BA roles as well

Burned out in current role. 10-plus years post-MBA experience in Corp Fin role unable to move up to Director due to lack of "scope" - limited to no opps. Currently, work 40-50 hours week (minimal to no weekends) and earn ~250 TC. Work day is "intense" - many quick turnaround projects from task to task.

Is it worth shopping around? Can I get promo to Director level at another Tech company, earn more and still maintain same level of hours (limited weekend work)? Less intense days possible?

I feel like every company lies about “working your way up.” You’re never allowed to blatantly say that you don’t like your position and you’d like to transition to HR or Finance. It’s almost as if once you get in claims, you’re stuck.

If you’re a manager and you see an employee that wants to branch out into a different department, why would you keep them boxed in for 2+ years?

Are there some background mechanics that I’m missing?

So I’ve been working at the same place for 3 years and have hit a wall a while back, overworked/ underpaid, overlooked etc . I went back to for a second Bachelors in mechanical engineering but working a full time job will see it I graduate in 10yrs so now I’m starting my MBA soon. Seems like nothing I try helps. Anyone experiencing the same trying to get interviews/ job offers? I’ve been trying to get into Apple, Meta, aerospace giants for yrs. Have only had 2 interviews in 3 yrs. No help.

A former client director colleague has gone in-house as CMO. They are now asking me (currently ECD) to join and set up an agency-like creative team to up-level everything from brand to sales materials. It's a good mgmt opp and good creative is a definite possibility, but I'm conflicted. Aency BS would be nice to step away from, but I think I'm still bought into the notion that agencies are superior and in-house is where washed-up creatives go to die. Any regrets from those that made the jump?

For the people who earned the SHRM-CP, did you feel it was worth it? I have an indirect HR position, been applying for more HR focused positions and wondering if this would help. I got the CAPM (certified associate of project management) in December, but that hasn’t really changed things. Would love some opinions before working on another certification!

Open Enrollment Q:
Debating between High Deductible (for HSA) & PPO options.
My spouse has some expensive medications. Annual insurance allowed amount is ~$40K for us in 2021. Since we are currently on PPO, we only paid ~$500 out of pocket.
With a high deductible plan, we would pay ~ $7K out of pocket since HD Plan only pays 90% after the deductible. Is there anyone in similar situation? Does enrolling in a high deductible plan for HSA make sense in this case? Anyone in similar situation?
