I’m currently in Underwriting but I’m thinking of switching over to the corporate risk management side. Is this something I should do? Any advice would be welcome.

Had a friend thinking of doing the same. Said it was important to emphasize how you may deal with risk already in underwriting. Also important to have knowledge of stats he told me.

And yeah I definitely planned on getting my ARM asap since the end goal for me would be to become a risk manager

How to make a career shift from FP&A to Strategic Finance?

I need to make a shift in my life. I have a lot of leadership experience both in the military and my civilian lives but most of my jobs have been labor intensive and I’m hitting a point where I have to admit I can’t do it anymore. I have a very eclectic background and fall into the “Jack of all trades” category rather than having an overarching career path, but this is turning out to be a detriment as I try to change roles. Does anyone have any suggestions other than the VA for job assistance?

I have been working in management at an industry job for 10+ years and I would like to pivot to consulting. Are there any certifications that I should pursue before interviewing? Any other advice is welcome as well.

I am currently working as an Associate Consultant in a company whose main focus is in financial services. I want to make a career move from the financial services area to operations and strategy. I have been referred to a few roles but no success so far. I have a masters at UCD Michael Smurfit in Strategic Management and a couple of work experiences from when I was studying and working at the same time.

Any advices and tips for me? Is anyone available for a chat?
Thank you in advance

I just make a career transition from recruiting to Org Development at a consulting firm 6 months ago. I’m really struggling to learn the things I want to learn since I’m alone on projects and they aren’t change management based- more just building training materials (which is what I got my masters in). Is it worth to switch to an internal role even though I don’t have hands-on change management experience? All of the roles want change management. All advice and insight is welcome!

I have 4.5 yrs in Marketing Project Management - the last two have been working on a website that has earned over $20M in GP each year. I’m Scrum certified and have my CAPM. I’m on the fence about staying at my current company because of leadership changes. I’m considering asking for a title change to Senior Project Manager and a raise to $100k (currently making $85k mid level) and letting their response be the guiding decision if I stay or go. Does this seem unreasonable?

So I work for a multimillion dollar company
Here’s my dilemma. I started as a temp in the traffic department as a scheduler in April of 2021. I was making 44K a year with ZERO benefits.
I applied for a different position in logistics and got the job! BUT is came with a HUGE pay cut. I went from making 44K a year to 32K. I work my butt off and feel like I should be making more for my responsibilities. I’ve only been here a year but I do more than I should.
Is it too soon to renegotiate my pay?

Seeking advice for a friend. He called me this afternoon basically saying he was being put on a PIP, this is after the company had said a few times he was not learning the role fast enough, only executing duties at about a 20% accuracy week 1 of PIP, week 2 60%, now we are at week 3 back to 50% (UA role, has been there since June). Boss said significant improvement is needed by next Friday. Looking for tips, suggestions, should he already start looking elsewhere? He loves this new job.
